Mom went with us. This was a larger version of the previous ultrasounds. The baby was very active. It was fun watching him. We found that many of the problems we were told the baby had were not there. But the main problem, that the abdomen had not closed around the cord, was worse. The membrane protecting the organs from the amniotic fluid was broken. The heart was the only functioning organ. The baby was alive because of me. That, and my grandma's prayers.
